Letter to God (2)
Dear God: Before I got out of bed,
I bowed my head so I could talk to You.
David said You bend down to listen.
There is no place where You are not.
I want You to know I will be
Eternally thankful for Your son,
Who was without sin or spot,
That died upon the cross,
And with His blood we were bought.
In my old age I have faced death;
You squelched my anxiety;
I am no longer afraid of death’s icy-hand,
Because I know I am going to a better,
Richer, love-filled, land.
Thank You for wiping my weakened eyes;
Thank You for picking me up
When I stumbled and fell.
Thank You for answering the, ‘Whys’
I want You to know how honored
I am to call You ‘Father’;
How kind You are to me;
You loosed the shackles of sin,
And set me free.
I observed the words of Solomon
When all he asked You for was wisdom.
He admonished the young,
To remember and Honor You
In everything they do.
Solomon warned them
They would soon become old;
Their eyes will turn dim;
Their strong legs will grow weak;
Ecclesiastes 12:1-7
Father, the youth of today are bold;
They take leave to do whatever
They want to do,
Forgetting, in the end,
They will have to give an account to You.
Ecclesiastes 11:9
I love being in Your family;
I will reflect on your laws
And principles continually;
Your commandments are steadfast.
Unless the Lord build the house the work of the builders is useless:
Psalm 127:1
You chart the path before me and tell me where to stop and rest
Every moment You know where I am. You know what I am
Going to say before I say it, Lord
You precede and follow me. I can never get away from Your presence.
Psalm 139:3-5
Psalms 116:1-8
