I know you can't always tell,
but I love you more than anything.
I've always known that,
even before I got the ring.
You were always there for me,
though I didn't see you behind the rest,
I thought I needed them,
but you were always the best.
I know you don't always say the right thing,
but I know you really try.
I love that you're so honest,
I don't want you to lie.
You don't always say what I want to hear,
you always say how you feel,
sometimes I just don't wanna hear it,
hearing you say it makes it too real.
I know that my issues
have affected you too.
You deserve better
that's what I want to give you.
I will make things better
and get over my past.
A little more time
is all I ask.
Someday it will be just us,
I will let it all go.
I know this hasn't been fair to you
and it seems I'm moving so slow.
One day the ghosts will be gone,
I won't be haunted any more.
Loving me will be easier
and no longer seem like a chore.
