I wonder how it would have been
to touch his hand, to kiss his lips
to share my life with him
should have said yes the day he asked
it was years ago, the past now gone
he told me to listen to my heart
chase your dreams he whispered
I turned my back on his love
knowing he loved me like no other
maybe I was scared, maybe senseless
if I could only bring back those years
my tears, he would have loved them away
I still hear his words echo in my ears
and all is lost now in my world
there was once this marvelous chance

how I yearn for times I could have changed
now I look at myself and I'm old and worn
the child in me would live brightly today
but I was so blind and foolish
if only I had accepted his love
