Dance of Heather

As I open my Notebook my Spirit soars
As it takes me to a place You met me again and again
A Course You set before me and a Direction I followed
A journey very few make

You met me there Lord, on my hike through Yosemite
You carried my heart
I carried my pack
As we climbed those treacherous switchbacks together

For I could not have done it without You

And the Source of Your strength was with me
As I put one foot in front of the Other
Mile after mile we hiked
You and I Lord

Fifty hard miles together

When I think back it still Excites me
Realizing how far we have come
Knowing I will never be Separate from You no matter where I am
For You are the most Relevant part of my world

And I sat upon Your Platform some might call a rock
And looked in amazement
For before me I saw a breathtaking miracle
A meadow You laid before

Purple heather blew in the breeze
As ground squirrels scampered and darted about
And I knew You had been waiting there for me a very long time
To lay my heart at Your feet

The sun ignited the azure skies
Adorning this beautiful place You had given me
This Miracle You had placed before
As wildflowers and heather danced in the wind

Tears of joy and gratitude fell at my feet

For I knew I had been forever Transformed
