When They Had Fallen In Love

On opposite sides of the patio at a quaint little French bistro
the two had no clue they'd been shot by a Cupid's arrow
Both of the arrows, in fact, had made their marks still in tact
It wouldn't be long before it starts, the joining of two hearts
Perhaps a bit slow but soon true love will flourish and grow

Their eyes met and as seen within love's unfolding dream
The first spark of passion ignited, they were both excited
With a confidant wink and a smile, though not his usual style
He began to walk her way, would she run or would she stay
In awe of her beauty, he simply said 'do have lunch with me.

She gave him her hand and he then led her to a flower stand
Edelweiss and iris was her choice she'd said in a lovely voice
Back to the bistro they went, thrilled with the time well spent
Parting with a heavy sigh for neither wanted to say good-bye
They promised to meet again, the only question left was when

The distance between was miles apart, too much for any heart
They'd think of each other each day but then life got in the way
Ne'er a night will ever pass that each doesn't dream of the past
About a lunch at a French bistro, being shot by a Cupid's arrow
...............................and of when they had fallen in love
