As time melts away
year by year
there are special jewels sparkling
in the container of everyday
oh how they embellish our lives!
inject rainbows into our dreams
weave texture into the dull and flat
set minutia to music
and make butterflies smile
Often we take these jewels for granted
but not today
for this day is saturated with magic
because, my friend, it is the anniversary
of your birth
