What Would I Do?

Someone had asked me,
it was just the other day
What would I do if ever
you should walk away
Perplexed at first, why?
Who would ask such a thing
but then you never know
what the future may bring
A lot of different emotions
first ran through my head
From distraught to whoopee,
I get the whole bed
All alone and angry,
shocked or hurt and dismayed
Despair, disbelief or perhaps
a feeling I had been played
But something was hanging
in the back of my mind
Advice given to me
by my father once upon a time
'Don't ever let a man
make you feel worthless or blue
And if they should walk away,
they were never worthy of you!'
From a whole new perspective
I can begin to see clear
I never felt for a moment
you would ever leave me, dear
For what we share is something,
something so special and rare
Yes sir, my sweet lover man
we are truly quite the pair!
