After Dark

These moments after dark
At home
Late night slide to morning
I escape
Walking rainy streets when
Everybody sleeps
Except for me

Calm inside my head
And fear
Dampness on my face and hands
The wind
Chases me through the night
With jagged talons
As I try to flee

I look for you inside
And fear
That I will lose your face
Forget you
Live out life with ghosts
Haunting me
At home
