The History of Man Part I

Chapter One: The Neolithic Age
When Mother Earth was an animal's cage
Cavemen would hunt for one prime reason
To survive, reposing during the cold season

Vikings would travel from coast to coast
A Carnival Cruise without Kathie Lee as the host
The next chapter Romans danced in togas and vines
While gaining new knowledge and drinking fine wines

Greeks in all their wisdom and strife
Heroclitus proclaimed that change equals life
But is change true progress as I pass chapter ten
Greater knowledge improved with the destruction of man

Now one week paid vacation is all we require
Dying soon after the day you retire
Has humanity advanced since the discovery of fire
A history book
A factual satire
