Autumn Love

He met her on her front porch
While walking past her house, one night
He didn't think she knew, he always held a torch
For this beauty on the porch

But never really stopped to talk
He would walk by on purpose at night
Waiting for the time
that his timing would be just right

And tonight was the night
Walked down to her house
And up on the porch, he found his self
Eye to eye with beauty

he did not say a word, nor she
He thought she might be angry
But no she just smiled
And said what took you so long

With a voice so soft and mild
She took him by the hand
And lead him to the swing
Then said… I have loved you from a far

Now my heart sings
It’s waiting for this night
They kissed their first kiss
by moons twilight
On that welcome Autumn night
He gave her a rose...
