In these times
In these times, I'm growing
In these hard times, I'm showing
The world that
I am more than they are
I am showing them that I've
Risen above their expectations
And have succeeded in finding my heart
in the midst of this
Chaos
I've seen the things that make
people fall
I've seen the pain that
consumes them all
And I wonder why they cannot see that
it's all foolishness
They stumble around with no direction and
I wish, I pray
That there was a way to steer their path
So I look around at all the lies, then
I become still and look in the Father's eyes
Suddenly He shows me things
and Speaks to me
Like a Best Friend would
Compassion in His heart
And love for me even though
I've strayed so many times
In these times I'm growing
In these hard times He's showing me
Who I am
Although I may slip and become apathetic
He knows where I am and where I will end up
His hand rests on my life
Indefinitely
