Many Years Of Wedded Bliss

So many years of wedded bliss
Just can't get much better than this
Stars in the eyes, don't glitter much
The magic seems to have lost its touch
Sweet nothings whispered in each others ear
Is answered with huh?? I can't hear

When gas is expelled, they hear some how
Sinuses are blocked it don't stink now
Sitting around with the teeth taken out
Hearing aid on the dresser, no doubt
Our biggest thrill is sitting down to eat
High fiber diet, with fat free meat

She wants to go some place to shop
In front of his TV is where he'll plop
She wants to go to a church service
He won't go, says it makes him nervous
He wants to go and visit his kin
Doesn't ask her if she'll go with him

His ills and ailments he likes to discuss
About his doctors and nurses he does fuss
She isn't concerned about her toilet seat
He has his own in his place of retreat
When they talk, their memories are amiss
This makes it rough when they reminisce

For better or worse, till death do they part
Remaining in this strange marriage mart
You can't leave; you have no place to go
So they remain together, as older they grow
Young lovers and married folks do you agree
With love and marriage there's no guarantee

They often think back to what they had
They guess it wasn't all that bad
They had their hay day being in love
Now they look forward to the heavens above
Counting their blessings each day of their life
With him my husband and me his wife

I love my hubby heart and limb
He's my army man and I'm proud of him
Hair today and its gone tomorrow
Cellulite is my biggest sorrow
Now can you tell I still love my old coot
But one of these days he's going to be wearing my boot
