Jerome Avenue

I write my hazy childhood memories
As graphic dreams
In the present twilight
Before the approaching awakening.

Fantasies
Underneath the celestial blanket...
My head
Upon nature's hypo-allergenic pillow,
And a firefly night-light
Electrified
By the lunar power
Of a naked eye that peeks
Through the Venetian blinds
And hidden by stained white lace drapes
That decorates an open bay window
Across the street
On Jerome Avenue.
