On Writer's Block
Marble composition books,
Each with a broken bind.
Yellow #2 pencils,
With matching bite marks
And sparks arising from the eraser's edge.
Coffee stain rings
That forms an Olympic chain.
Ink stains on the beige shag carpet.
A Roget's Thesaurus
Held together by rubber bands.
And within this disorder
Are my contradicting words...
Cliche Lyrics...
And my once promiscuous journal,
Refusing to put out.
